Scale Model Exhibition and Competition

2010. april 9. – 2010. april 11.

“Scale modelling is probably one of the most complex and interesting hobbies, especially for youngsters. By modelling they can develop manual skills, patience, technical knowledge and history, whether they make martial vehicles, airplanes or ships. As for me, who currently manage the communication of Budapest Airport, modelling led me to the world of flying. This is why I truly recommend everyone the Scale Model Exhibition and Competition of Mosonmagyaróvár, that is the greatest one in Hungary and also significant in Europe. Besides, you can never know when these skills may be useful.” Mihály Hardy Director of Corporate Affairs Budapest Airport

Description of Scale Model Exhibition and Competition

The annual Scale Model Exhibition and Competition organized by Model Club Mosonmagyaróvár became one of the most important events in Europe during its existence of two decades.

Contestants can enter into the competition in different categories, such as martial vehicles, airplanes, dioramas and passenger cars. Other Hungarian clubs also contribute in the realization of the event and internationally acknowledged professionals are the members of jury.

The club aims to satisfy the needs of visitors. It is important to remark, that the event is not only for scale modellers but it is also for the locals with free entrance to the fair with brass musicians and air trampoline for children.

With the evolving new friendships, the popularity of the contest also increased. After joining the EU,  the four members of Visegrad Group established the “EU Cup”, a challenge-cup between these countries. However, contestants arrive from fifteen other European countries, from Far East and overseas as well.
